Phase 3

We’re thrilled to announce that our journey toward Mainnet Beta takes a significant leap forward with the commencement of Phase 3 of our Incentivized Testnet, beginning on December 20th. This final and crucial phase will include network resets and comprehensive upgrades, all meticulously designed to fortify our network’s security in preparation for launch.

In this post, we’ll share details about what these upgrades entail and how they contribute to our overarching vision. To stay informed and be a part of our evolving story, we encourage you to join our Discord community and subscribe to our blog for more detailed posts and updates as we progress.

Devnet: Pioneering Innovations and Security

Phase 3 will begin with the launch of our internal Devnet. It is a critical step where our engineering team will rigorously test our new network under a variety of conditions. This Devnet is not just a testing ground; it’s an innovation hub. It will incorporate all fraud proofs, including sophisticated mechanisms for handling cross-domain messaging, and will undergo testing scenarios involving malicious operators. Our team is dedicated to this effort and we’ll be working diligently throughout the upcoming week and holiday break to ensure robustness and reliability.

Network Reset: A Significant Milestone

A major event in Phase 3 is the network reset, scheduled for Wednesday, January 10th, which will launch the Gemini 3h network. The exact timing will be dependent upon the results from the Devnet over the holiday break. This reset is not just a routine step; it’s laying the groundwork for critical developments like the potential introduction of rewards and fees, and preparing us for community testing. It is a significant transition moving us closer to a network that’s ready for real-world application and community engagement. We’ll have more to share about the specifics, including details for the launch as we get closer to the reset date.

End of Stake Wars: Last Call for Early Participation

We will be concluding Stake Wars on January 10th as well, marking the end of a significant initiative in our journey. Stake Wars has been a phenomenal opportunity for early adopters to earn tokens and gain expertise in our technology stack. For those still considering, this is your moment to be part of something groundbreaking.

Ongoing Research: Shaping the Future of Rewards and Security

Our research team is actively defining the rewards specification, with a focus on how domains will manage storage fees for bundles. Additionally, we’re refining various network parameters, including the challenge period length, minimum replication factor, and minimum operator stake. A key area of progress is in ‘Proving on consensus after the state is pruned’. This development will enhance the network’s long-term viability and efficiency. We also will be conducting tokenomics simulations during Phase 3

As we embark on these ambitious goals, we acknowledge the inherent challenges and risks in meeting our targeted dates. Our commitment to transparency and open communication remains unwavering. We promise to keep you informed every step of the way, adapting and evolving as necessary to deliver a network that not only meets but exceeds expectations.
